Show up on a Thursday evening early in our rehearsal period for a free taster session! Prior experience is welcome but not required.
Musicians
Get in touch if you’re an experienced rehearsal pianist, orchestral instrument player, or conductor. We provide modest payment for these services.
Others
If you’d like to sponsor the Society, or volunteer to help with music preparation, staging, sets, costumes, or front-of-house, we’d love to hear from you!
Rehearsals are from 7:30pm to 9.30pm on Thursday evenings at the Methodist Church, 277 Bricknell Avenue, Hull HU5 4TJ.
Enter through the glass double doors in the church car park on the right of the main building. Parking is free in the car park and on the street.
Summer production
In June most years, the Society performs a fully staged G&S production accompanied by the Kingston Savoy Orchestra.
Chorus rehearsals start in January and continue until the first performance. Band rehearsals start in May.
Auditions for principal roles are held in early January. New members who join by early March may be permitted to take part in the chorus, which is unauditioned.
Autumn concert
In late November or early December each year, the Society performs a concert or small musical production, usually with piano accompaniment.
Rehearsals for this start in September, but new members who join in early October should be able to take part in the chorus.
If solo or principal roles are available, these will either be auditioned in September or assigned to experienced singers who are known to the society.
